When you order your machine, do so with the least amount of RAM.

Then order the extra RAM through Crucial.com. That will save you hundreds of dollars.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07314695492760362481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11857200.post-76712204015466636452008-05-04T20:17:00.000-05:002008-05-04T20:17:00.000-05:00I want MerleFest pics.I want MerleFest pics.Daddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10911927574866441384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11857200.post-42602744363610437242008-05-04T18:23:00.000-05:002008-05-04T18:23:00.000-05:00I adore my MacBook. You'll love it. And you can run Windows on it now too using Boot Camp included in Leopard, the latest OS, so you'll be covered that way as well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08837529956827141862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11857200.post-86268180835799154672008-05-04T13:31:00.000-05:002008-05-04T13:31:00.000-05:00I recommend making your purchase on screen size pr...I recommend making your purchase on screen size preferences. I have the lowest end MacBook and it does EVERYTHING you'd need it so with sufficient power.

I chose the 13" white one because it was the smallest and that's what I wanted.

When I want extra screen space, I hook it up to an external monitor and use the dual-display capabilities.BadBloodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06704097734195581968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11857200.post-2165965503931065442008-05-04T13:09:00.000-05:002008-05-04T13:09:00.000-05:00I would think that there would be a huge number of...I would think that there would be a huge number of non-Mac options available to you that would more than meet your needs at a fraction of the cost.

There's a ton of laptops out now with 3 or 4gb of RAM and more than capable processors at the $700 price point.

As someone who indulges in the same vices as you, I find my 17" HP laptop to more than meet my needs.

Unless you feel the burning need for a Mac, no reason to spend that kind of $$$$. Then again, who am I to stand in your way.gadzooks64https://www.blogger.com/profile/11196685757419878380noreply@blogger.com
